Travel guide
The cheapest months to fly from Dallas to Dhaka.
When fares home to Bangladesh drop, when they jump, and how far ahead to book. Written by the agents who book this route every week.
There is no nonstop flight between Dallas and Dhaka. Every trip connects once, usually in Doha, Dubai, Istanbul or Abu Dhabi, so the price you pay depends on when the Gulf and Turkish carriers are busy, and on when Bangladeshi families travel. The pattern repeats every year, with the two Eids moving about eleven days earlier each time.
Month by month

Winter break and wedding season at home. The weeks around Christmas and New Year are the most expensive of the year, and seats sell out early.
Everyone has flown home and come back. Fares are usually at their lowest of the year and flights are quieter. In 2027 this quiet stretch ends in late February, as Eid al-Fitr falls early.
Eid al-Fitr is expected around March 9–10, 2027 and Eid al-Adha around May 16–17, 2027. Fares rise two to three weeks before each one and fall again a week or two after.
Fair prices between the two Eids. Spring break (mid-March in most Dallas-area schools) adds a little.
Summer break. Not as steep as December, but busy on every airline, especially for families traveling together.
The second quiet stretch of the year. Early December in particular is far cheaper than two weeks later.
Pattern from A-1’s bookings on this route and from Google Flights price history, checked October 2026. Eid dates depend on moon sighting and may shift by a day.
Why fares move the way they do
- One connection, a few airlines. Qatar Airways, Emirates, Turkish Airlines and Etihad carry most Dallas–Dhaka travelers. When their Dallas flights fill up for the holidays, there is no cheap alternative to switch to.
- Everyone goes home at the same time. Winter break, the Eids and summer are when families in Dallas, Houston and New York all fly to Bangladesh, so the Dhaka end of the trip is busy too.
- The return matters as much as the departure. Flying out in a quiet week but coming back in a busy one (for example out in early December, back in early January) prices the whole ticket at the busy level.
How far ahead to book
- December, Eid and summer trips: three to five months ahead. On this route, peak fares rarely fall at the last minute; the cheaper seats simply disappear.
- Quiet months: six to ten weeks ahead is usually enough, and there is more room to pick a good connection.
- Not sure of your dates? Ask us for a 24-hour hold. We hold most reservations for a day while you confirm with family, at no cost.
Ways to pay less
- Shift by a few days. Leaving a week before the school holiday starts, or coming back a few days after it ends, often saves hundreds per person. Tuesday and Wednesday departures tend to be cheaper than Friday and Saturday.
- Make the connection a stop. A few days in Istanbul, Doha or Dubai on the way can cost little or nothing extra, and breaks up a 20-hour journey. See multi-city and stopovers.
- Count the bags. Most Gulf carriers include two checked bags on this route; some fares include one. A cheaper fare with one bag can cost more once you add the second.
- Ask about contract fares. A-1 has agreements with Qatar Airways, Emirates and Turkish Airlines. On eligible dates we can often match or beat the online fare and still give you an agent who answers the phone when plans change.
- Children under two fly on an infant fare (a small percentage of the adult fare) without a seat; children two and over need their own seat and fare.
Common questions
What is the cheapest month to fly from Dallas to Dhaka?
In 2027, late January and February, before Ramadan begins on about February 8, should be the cheapest, followed by late September and October. Early December is also good value if you can return before the holiday rush.
Is it cheaper to fly to Dhaka from Dallas or from Houston?
Usually about the same: both connect on the same Gulf and Turkish flights. Dallas has nonstop flights to Doha, Dubai and Istanbul, which keeps the connection simple.
Can I fly to Sylhet or Chattogram instead?
Yes. Most tickets to Sylhet (ZYL) or Chattogram (CGP) connect through Dhaka on Biman or US-Bangla, and some Gulf carriers fly to Sylhet directly from Doha or Dubai. Tell us your home city and we will price both ways.
Do fares drop at the last minute?
Rarely on this route, and almost never for December, Eid or summer. The lowest fares go first; what is left closer to the date is usually the more expensive fare class.
What about the No Visa Required (NVR) seal for U.S.-born children?
Children born in the U.S. to Bangladeshi parents travel on a U.S. passport and need either a visa or the NVR seal from the Bangladesh mission. See our visa and travel documents page, and start early for a December trip.
