Ways to build your route

Stopovers

Many trips connect through Istanbul, Doha, or Dubai. Depending on the airline and fare, we can often turn that connection into a short stay.

Several countries

Visit family in one country and holiday in another on a single itinerary, with all flights on one plan.

Meet up on the way

Family flying from different cities can meet at a stopover, then travel on together, all on one plan.

Stopovers

Turn a connection into a short stay

Many trips from Dallas to Bangladesh and India connect in Istanbul, Doha or Dubai. A stop of one to three days breaks up the long journey and adds a city to your trip.

Istanbul

Turkish Airlines

Don’t miss: Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, the Grand Bazaar and a Bosphorus cruise.

Good to know: Turkish Airlines’ stopover program can include free hotel nights on eligible round-trip tickets with a stop of 20 hours or more. For shorter connections, it runs free Touristanbul city tours.

Doha

Qatar Airways

Don’t miss: the Museum of Islamic Art, Souq Waqif, the Corniche and a desert safari.

Good to know: Qatar Airways’ stopover packages offer 4- and 5-star hotels in Doha at special rates.

Dubai

Emirates

Don’t miss: the Burj Khalifa, the old souks and an evening in the desert.

Good to know: we can book your hotel and airport transfers along with the flights.

Stopover programs and their rules change, and they depend on your ticket, so we check what yours includes before you book. Leaving the airport means entering the country, so check the visa rules for your passport on our Visa & travel documents page.

Before you book

Good to know

One ticket is safer

With every flight on one ticket, the airline has to rebook you if a delay makes you miss a connection. On separate tickets, that risk is yours.

Your bags

On one ticket, bags usually go through to your final city. On a stopover of a day or more, you take them with you.

Visas for every stop

Each country on your route has its own entry rules, even for a short stay. We tell you what to check for each stop.

Changes

Changing one date can affect the rest of the route. We check the fare rules with you before you buy.

Common questions

Is multi-city more expensive than a round trip?

Not always. Adding a city or a stopover sometimes costs little or nothing extra. We price your route against a simple round trip so you can compare.

Can I add a stopover on the way home?

Often, yes. It depends on the airline and fare rules. Tell us where you connect and how many days you want.

What’s the difference between a layover and a stopover?

A layover is a short connection between flights, usually a few hours at the airport. A stopover is when you leave the airport and stay, usually a day or more, before flying on.

Do I need a visa for a stopover?

If you leave the airport, you are entering that country, so its visa rules apply to your passport. U.S. citizens can visit Turkey for up to 90 days without a visa. For other passports and countries, see Visa & travel documents or ask us.

Are free stopover hotels real?

Some are. Turkish Airlines’ stopover program can include free hotel nights on eligible tickets, and Qatar Airways offers stopover hotel packages in Doha. The rules change and depend on your ticket, so we check what yours includes.

Can my family fly from different cities and meet up?

Yes. For example, you fly from Dallas and your parents from Dhaka, and you meet in Istanbul for a few days before flying on together. We plan both sides of the trip.

Will I pay more than booking online?

No. We price-match online rates, so you get an agent’s help at the same price.
